The product looks good but performs bad, ( hint: why it's the cheapest axle back in the market )

Contacted Greddy and was informed that this axle-back system needs to be mated with an x-pipe for it to work properly. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Greddy doesn't even offer an x-pipe!!

I also looked underneath and noticed that the Greddy pipe diameter was smaller than my current Tanabe axle-back system.

I wish I could help you more but the truth of the matter is, it needs to be removed or add an x-pipe and wish what they claim is true.
Nailed it. My BiL is a mechanic and as soon as he heard the sound, said it’s due to the design.

That sounds belt or pulley related. Check your drive belts, pulleys, tensioner and idler.

Found a tiny opening at the top of the weld last night when I looked for myself. I’m hoping this is the culprit

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Hope that is it.

Smoke test the exhaust. If you have any pinholes or shoddy welds in that Greddy it'll reveal itself quickly. That'll remove any and all guesswork. Keep us posted.

Please see the thread below this one: “GSF Midsection Exhaust Leak”.
It may shed some insight also.
Thanks
