Running wider tires lowered on OEM wheels
I'm currently sitting on swift springs. My rear tires are just about done so I'm fixing to replace all 4. What's the widest tire that I can run on the front and rear on my OEM wheels and taking into consideration that I am lowered as well?

I think one of the gsf youtubers put 2 sizes up in the front and 1 size up in the rear on firestone tires and it worked. Ill be doing the same soon as well since my rears are almost at the wear bar.

You could do that, but the rims aren't wide enough to accomodate much more than stock if you are following the tire manufacturer's recommendations for tire size and wheel width.

I remember seeing some members here posting pics for running 265/285 front/rear tires on stock wheels. Basically just +1 on stock sizes. They came out really good, and reported no issues running them.

It all depends on what you are looking for. If you only want visual performance, you'll likely be fine. If you're looking for mechanical grip, you might be disappointed.

Ya I don't care for visual, just was wondering if going wider would lend me more grip. But if you're saying it won't lend any added benefit, then I'll just stick with the OEM size.

If only we had 9" and 10" wheels...

Thanks Lou. Yeah, I'm braindead today...285 and 265 will fit nicely on stock rims, still not sure about what they will do to the suspension geometry though. Changing diameters changes everything.
