Default Front Grill Trim Chrome Delamination

Hey Guy/Girls,

Have any of you seen something like this before?

Took my vehicle to one Lexus dealership and they said they had not seen this on any trim piece before, but would not cover and I am out of warranty, so I asked for them to see if corporate would work with me, and a day later, I was told the request was denied.

I then took the vehicle to another dealer two weeks later, showed them the car and they too said they had not seen chrome film bubble like this and they also would not cover due to vehicle age, but would submit another Good Will request and a week later, I got a call and Lexus approved and it has been replaced and I am one happy camper.

I am not going to call the first dealership a liar, but I find it suspicious how one dealership made the customer happy and one did not but I do know that I will continue to drive past the one dealership to the other one that is twice as far away because I really believed this was a defective piece and they seemed to care more about making the customer satisficed (which is a dying trait in America in my opinion).

Weird. Is the carbon fiber also delaminating or is that dirt under paint protection film?

Good eye and yes, the front CF molding is starting to delaminate plus there is a chip. My car has 40K miles on the clock and there is going to show some wear up there.

I've seen worse with less. It's just too bad the replacement parts for such a vulnerable area are so expensive. Glad to hear the chrome trim was eventually covered.
