Lightbulb FBO Tune GS F DataLog HP/TQ/AFR/IAT

After having a discussion on Facebook with an RC F owner with a custom intake built by Loi and a tune by Loi as well about IAT’s vs the oem set up vs his current modified set up I decided I wanted to datalog my car.

I logged cruising IAT’s/AFR’s which were about 3-4° above ambient cruising at 70+mph. And he said when he used to go WOT with the factory airbox he would see 130° IAT’s. I never data logged with the stock airbox without modifications so I will just take his word for it because I’m too lazy to remove the heat shield for the sake of science.

So I datalogged my car on a WOT pull just to see what the Temps and AFR would be. (The spreadsheet was way longer but I narrowed it down to the pull just to make it easier to see)

This is a 3rd gear pull at 87° ambient temperature at the time. It was 7ish am if I remember correctly when I left my house.

Interesting how it dropped, but went back up as your speed increased. That's certainly counterintuitive.

I am confused when you by what you mean when you say it dropped and went back up? The temperature looks like it went from 89.6 degrees up to 100 degrees when the secondary air flap opened up. And then dropped back down to 96, then 93 degrees with the increased airflow from speed.

From 115 to 144 mph, the temperature was stable. At 147, it went up 2.8 degrees. You continued to accelerate, so you didn't lift until 151 mph when A/F went to over 15:1 (that's for sure lifting off), but the temperature went up. I wouldn't expect that to happen.

Ohhh, yea idk why that would happen either. I didn’t necessarily get on the brakes immediately either I don’t think so it wouldn’t be the heat from the brakes.

At 91 mph at 7035 rpms my IAT is 95 degrees F on a stock intake box.

hmmm. Seeing my data was the reason not to buy that heat shield. It would make sense if it was a full enclosure like the AEM but if its working for you than that's a good thing.

The AEM box is a good design, I’m just not a fan of getting rid of the air flap.
