It's a possibility. I went through the engine but couldn't find anything chewed up. Maybe something got wet?

No luck. Any idea where the crankshaft position sensor is located?

It's by the front of the crank on the side though, look for a small wiring harness that goes into the timing chain lower cover. I don't know if a problem there will cause the light on the push start button to not light up though, if you have an open there it wont start but wont cause any of the problems like flickering lights etc.

Not your engine but they're all basically in the same spot, where it says crankshaft position near the bottom.

Thanks. Is it easier to access from beneath?

Clear the code and see if it comes back immediately (hard code) I wouldn't chase that too far if it doesn't.

I attempted to clear it and it's showing as permanent.

So the code comes back when clearing it and then turning the ignition on with no attempt to crank it over?

Did you ever have that second battery load tested?
