If it's not leaking yet? Anybody ever thought that changing the coolant more frequent due to problem may help? Coolant can become more acidic over time.
I mean I know it's a factory defect but I just wondered if a more frequent coolant exchange might extent the time on the F Cars. I did 25k Coolant changes on my GS460, flushed it every 50k, and made it to 167k, and never had the problem. The 460 was known for this also, but I don't if the F Cars were worst or not.

I had 180k miles on my IS F when I resealed the valley plate. It was barely leaking, but there was definitely red crust between the plate and bank 2. Nothing at all on the bank 1 side. The easy way to check coolant is to put a DC voltmeter probe in the liquid with the other probe on ground. It will show you how much galvanic action is taking place by the voltage. New is at or very near zero. When it gets to 0.5 vdc, it's time to change it. Anything more frequent is a waste of time, money, and just adds good coolant to the waste stream.
Even in some Toyota engines past 100k miles that acidy coolant can help deteriorate a head gasket. In my case to do it myself it was just the cost of the coolant which is cheap and flush and a garden hose.
