Might wnna have Lexus have a look at this one its probably the motor bearings that need lubrication and thats probably it since you can hear the motor running which makes the noise but dont operate it until Lexus has a look since you might burn out the motor and then u'll be in for a hefty expense so just relax let Lexus have a look
Good Luck

The motor bearing????? Did you mean the muffler bearing? There are 2 motors that drive this system one for tilt and one for telescopic. It sounds like telescopic is working fine. Check first tilt position sensor circuit then tilt motor circuit . You will have to go to the TILT and TELESCOPIc ECU under the drivers dash panel to access the ECU. More than likely it's the tilt position sensor that needs to be replaced, worst case scenario is it's the motor or ECU.

Default hello turbogs

were our the sensors ?

I CHECKED THE FUSES , OUR THE SENSORS LOCATED NEXT TO THE FUSES?

IF SO HOW CAN I CHECK THE SENSORS?

the steering wheel comes in and out perfect, but when i try to use the tilt
it makes a LITTLE noise and does nothing.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Default Hello Lexxacy

The Tilt Makes A ( Little) Noise Not A Load Motor Noise, maybe Motor Is
Broke? The Telescop Works Perfect??

Thanks Help

I meant the motor bearings inside the steering wheel mechanism might need lubrication because lets face it every motor mechanism uses bearings and when they start making nosie its lack of lubrication . . . I have asked about this from my mechanic at Lexus a while ago and he told me that yes there is a lubrication procedure available for this noise. . . but unfortunately there is about 2-3 labor hours required in order to do complete this job because they have to take out the whole steering wheel and the steering wheel mechanism (the motor). So best thing is to show it to your SVC manager or a Lexus Mechanic have a look and one of them will let you know what your options are. . . . .

Also I dont know what TurboGS300 is thinking ?
By motor bearings I was referring to the ones in the steering wheel mechanism where did MUFFLER BEARINGS come from???? (did you just assume???)
and by the way if the motor needed replacement I dont think the Tilt or Telescopic would WORK at ALLLL!! but however you are right about the ECU part that could be a possibility too . . .

There are NO MOTOR BEARINGS, the muffler bearing was a joke. As I stated there are 2 MOTORS , so tilt is seperate from telescopic. I would post the check procedure, howevER, It's 'for the first gen and It's quite long and complicated. So post this in the other forum and hopefully someone can scan in the FSM procedure.

I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but while we're on the topic...

What is a good lubricant to use on motor bearings?

thanks.

Now that is why I mentioned about the lubrication of motor bearings and it doesnt matter whether its FirstGen or SecondGEn both cars have motors in their steering tilt mechanism and both operate under the same fundamental laws of mechanical physics trust me man Ive made motors and worked with them and my dad is an engineer he gave me the same reasoning. . . so did my lexus mechanic a while back when I asked him about the lubrication procedure! So I think my reasoning is right . . .
First off every motor does NOT have bearings. Some use a bushing or collar. These motors are small heavy duty motors and are designed to be replaced if they're bad. However, more than likely it is the sensor circuit.

You don't lube the beariings, if it had bearings most would be sealed. If you want to lube something check the gears that mesh with the mottor and relube them with a good quality grease. I really like the grease made by militec. I've used many greases and this one actually seems to work. You can't get it in any store, only online.

Oh my t&t works fine. I have this old fan from the 20s that keeps jamming up so I might try that lubricant on it. Everything else I have works for a while but then I guess breaks down and the fan slows to a stop.

if you can get the militec grease in there with a syringe , it might be too thick for that. It won't be stopping anymore from lack of lubrication.
