Default Stock headlamp w/HIDs

who all has these? just a stock headlamp-NOT modded-WITH HIDs.

how is the light output? how bad are the "hot spots"? is it better in general?

I have a set and to be honest, the light output is actually pretty good. Since our lights have projectors stock, it has a much better output than a Civic with HIDs who have a regular halogen headlight. I had an HID retrofit from an RX330 on my Prelude and the light output on them was awesome. I wouldn't say it is better than what I had, but I was actually quite surprised at how much better the light output was on the Lexus when I put in the HIDs with the stock headlamp.

lots of people have these,

the projectors suck, the cutoff line isn't great, but it doesn't blind on coming drivers as much as regular halogen housings like civics and ****.

it all depends on the kit you get too.

i know the aristo lights aren't that great, but the GS300 ones might be different, hard to say

good ok lol. so those of you who run HIDs...did you guys run a relay harness or did you plug the ballast straight up into the OEM harness for the low beams?

with a conversion kit, that's all you do, plug the ballast into the stock plug, then the bulb into the ballast

just buy a "HID conversion kit" like the ones ebay has or whatever, and you'll be fine

For mine I need a relay harness for the fogs, Sometimes I get one going and sometimes both, Its because I have the 3k fogs and 8k headlights, I would say their alot better !
