JDM A340e Aristo TT Shift Solenoid Valves
Hi guys, I own a 93 JDM Aristo 3.0V. Currently, the car is having problems with shifting the gears. Pulled out the error codes 62&63 which means the shift solenoids 1 & 2 are faulty. Shift solenoids from Toyota are about usd113 each. Im looking for a cheaper alternatives and found a set from ebay

Will those solenoids works with my JDM A340e tranny?

Wish I could help you but I don't know anything about the autos.. You should definitely lift the car up, drain the transmission fluid and pull the bottom pan off and see what the shift solenoids look like and compare. You will probably have to use your brackets and such so make sure you don't break anything.

be careful though....I swore I read somewhere it was better to take a340 (on the supra forums) out of the car and have pan facing upright.
Edit:
Here is the post where I think I read this. It also explains how to make the A340 last and shift faster.

I've replaced them in car with no issues. Just be patient and drain all the fluid out. It'll take hours to fully drain. Otherwise you risk getting fluid on your gasket which causes leaks. It's an easy fix and the Aristo trans is the same as the turbo auto 93-97 supra.

Did replacing the solenoids solve your problem? Here is a link to an inexpensive set of solnoids and they seem to be direct fit instead of the universal type. http://www.electricaladvantage.net/a...oidkit3pc.aspx

Turned out that the capacitors inside the ECU were leaking. Tested the car with different ecu and it ran perfectly fine.
