Default Price thread - what kind of deal did you get?

After looking at some of the other cars in the same class I decided to purchase a GS F Sport AWD. I'm lining up the local dealerships to track down what I want which got me thinking, what are other people who have already taken the plunge able to negotiate? I have not yet received any numbers back so I was hoping to educate myself and maybe some other newbies or lurkers on what they could maybe expect or hope to negotiate with the stealership.

The upside was on my trade. I don't think they are going to take much off sticker since the car is brand new and selling well. Also, you would have more leverage if it was sitting on their lot rather than the dealership having to have it shipped in.

I've gotten offers at MSRP, invoice + $750, and invoice.

Yeah, I got more of a deal on my trade. It's all the same, you either get the new one at invoice and take it up the *** on your trade or vice versa.

Wow offers at invoice or Invoice + $750 already for a car that just came out...Why would dealers sell these cars that just came out for close to invoice?

Something doesn't sound right...Can you tell us if there was some kind of trade involved?

We picked up an F-sport AWD for MSRP, but we got a few things thrown in:
1. $1,500 conquest rebate
2. Free window tinting
3. Free clear bra
4. 5K, 10K, 15K, and 20K services at no cost
5. $1,000 over Edmund's trade-in value on our 2007 ES 350
I feel like we got a good deal.

Wow! that sounds like a good deal to me. The dealer I went to wouldn't even give me the Autobahn film protection. They wanted MSRP and that's the bottom line. Granted, the F-sport wasn't even in their system yet when I was looking for a GS.

You will find big differences in pricing across the country. CA is notorious being very cut throat with so many dealers in the big metro areas. It is all about market share in the cities. Where as is in smaller towns and the midwest, dealers aren't so eager to go at or near invoice.

Took delivery of a RWD F Sport (Starfire Pearl/Cabernet) with MSRP $56,442 today.

Negotiated $1500 under MSRP, plus the following rebates.

LS recall rebate $1500
GS Performance event coupon $1000
Conquest $1500

24 month/15,000 mi/yr lease sign and drive with $0 drive off costs.

23 payments of $700 plus tax ($742).

A steal in my opinion for a really nice car. Replaces a 2011 Panamera sold to Carmax.

That's really interesting because I was specifically told by my salesman that the conquest rebate and the GS event coupon were not able to be used in combination . Anyone else have their dealership allow both?

My dealer had F-sports but none with AWD. They had to orchestrate a trade with a dealer from a different region and we're still waiting for the car to arrive in Albuquerque.

The dealer I spoke to in my area indicated they aren't discounting at all. I didn't get into finding out what they would do on my trade. I just figured they wouldn't bloat the value of my trade in enough.

Realistically, I'm probably a year or two away from replacing my 3rd gen V-8 460. I actually went into to audition the Mark Levinson system. ML has always provided good car audio, but the 3rd gen featured DVD-A in 5.1. In reality, their 5.1 system was not that good, except for DTS format. So I wanted to see if the ML system in the 4th gen was better.

It was. Much better, but didn't have the same bass punch of my 3rd gen system. Primarily better in decoding the 5.1 DVD-A signal througout all speakers.

I'm not thrilled that they no longer offer a V8. The power difference is easily less with the 350. But its the direction engines are going with gas prices so high. I would like to think that having a V8 would be an attractive feature to enhance the trade in/resale value down the road.

I might have been interested in talking a trade if they were discounting like they have here in the past, and I got something close to a fair trade in.

Maybe a couple of years will change things, price wise and who knows, maybe they'll add a V8 version......
