Double pane windows?
Just a fun fact, our windows are double pane.
I had a dent pulled out of my door only to have them crack my window. The outer window cracked but the inner window didn't. Crazy.
Im assuming this helps keep out heat better. What other purposes would it serve?

I think it's to reduce the outside noise. Thicker windows = Less noise.

Not all GS are double pane. It might be a cold weather option, not sure, but my front door windows both were replaced and double panes were added to lessen the wind noise, which worked. Also, they replaced the tint when they replaced the windows and the tint is not scratched, been on the car about 8 or 9 months.

I got a chip in my windshield last night from a rock while driving on the highway. My insurance carrier, USAA outsources windshield repairs to SAFELITE AUTOGLASS and they are coming to the house tomorrow to replace it. Anyone know if the window is double pane? Opinions on whether I should have it done at the dealership instead? I assume it will be lexus oem...

You may need to ask for OEM glass if that's what you want, I know I had to. They needed to special order it for me. Not sure on the double pane but does your car have auto sensing wipers? I'm not sure if there's something special with the glass or not.
