2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport BlendMount and Mirror Tap Install
Hey guys I just wanted to let you know, that I successfuly installed the mirror tap kit into our vehicles. I have a Beltronics STI Driver detector, and wanted a nice clean look / install with my radar detector. I purchased the Blendmount kit which was kinda expensive for what it is, but you get what you pay for. A nice quaility piece that mounts and adjusts nicely with a snug fit. The construction of the piece is quality. The Mirror tap install instructions are garbage and useless and I couldnt find any installation guides online that helped for our vehicle, so I took a few pics. I believe the length of my Mirror tap cord was 12" as they can be ordered in different sizes, I would NOT recommend getting less then 12" as that just barely makes the run with just a little slack. In the pictures shown below, as you can see i removed the headliner panel to access the plug. Slip the red wire (power) the the brown wire (power) to get the 12v power, then slip the black (ground) to the black wire. The picture with my fingers holding the plug is the one that I used to run the Mirror tap into. I'm very happy with the products. The only thing with installing it like this, is that the radar dector stays on even after the car is shut down, you have to manually shut the radar detector off.

If you grab power from the rain sensor your radar detector will cut on and off with the car.
rain sensor (white/pink/green). Ground wire (black) on mirror tap goes to (white) wire on sensor and (red) wire on mirror tap goes to (pink) wire on sensor.

If your referring to one of the plugs in one of those 2 black boxes, we were only pulling 5 volts off of it, so thats why we didn't utilize that one, so thats why we went off the one we were pulling 12 volts off of.

It's probably a permissions thing. You have to put the images into a Public folder in your Dropbox account. Unless we're logged into your Dropbox we won't be bale to see the images.

I did a hardwire install as well but used the add a circuit and ran the hardwire down to the fuse box. This way the vehicle is not altered at all and the detector powers on and off with the car.

Rain sensor pink is +12v when the ignition is ON.
Rain sensor white is ground.
Used to connect a 12v mini usb adapter.
Thanks!

I thought I would bump this thread as I did the work yesterday, with help by searching here and a few YT video's. My car is a 2019 GS 350 F-sport. I was frustrated because the pink wire was not my rain sensor wire. Used the BlendMount and bought a Uniden R3. The other frustrating part was when I slid the cover back over the wiring area, the first time I didn't realize how tight it was and pulled the plugs for this out, wasn't happy when I had it all buttoned up and it wouldn't turn on. So had to be very careful sliding the cover back on to make sure the end didn't pull on the wiring.
