Question Have a question... (how do I program homelink)

I just got my 99 GS400 and I was wondering if any of you guys know how to program the garage door opener to my garage. I've never had a car with it and I have no clue how to do it. I am new to this forum, and I must say I am surprised at how helpful it is. I used to own an acura tl, and that forum was not as good, I just got rid of my 04 sentra ser spec v for the 99 GS4, The gs has more miles and is older, but it was a very good decision, they are such different cars.
Thanks guys.

Paraphrased directly from the 99 owners manual (too lazy to crank up the other puter and use the scanner):
The Homelink has 3 buttons anbd can be programmed to operate 3 separate devices.

1. Decide which button you want to program. Push and hold down that button for about 20 secs until the indicator light begins to flash. Continue to hold the button down (I think).
2. Bring the hand held garage door opener within 25mm (1in) of the button being programmed and push the button on the hand held garage door opener.
3. When the frequency and code is registered, the indicator light flashes rapidly. At this point, you can release both bottons.

(c) Erasing the garage door opener memory
Push and hold down the 2 outside buttons for about 20 seconds until the indicator light flashes. All memorized data will be erased.

There are some other steps for transmitters that have a rolling code feature. Basically, you set the car button, then put the in-garage receiver in training/learning mode, and give it the code you've set for the car.

Welcome vasgs4. No doubt you can find answers to your questions here.

If you would be so kind, please make your thread subject more specific. Instead of "Have a question..." - maybe something like "need help programming homelink" perhaps.

Thanks, and congrats on the GS.
