Default homelink sys?

does any one know if the homelink sys stores the memory in the console or does it have its own ecu?

it probably stores the stuff by itself? if i remember right, disconnecting the battery won't erase your homelink

so the console is the unit itself, and yes that is true. disconnecting the battery does not erase its memory.

I read this somewhere on the Homelink instructions website, after not being able to program a newer garage door.

Something about new doors using "rolling codes".

Sorry, dont remember all that well, since I gave up on it a few years ago.

man.... read the homelink instuctions again with rolling codes, you need to press on the learning button on the garage door motor.... do that and i guarantee it will work

my house was built 2000, mine works fine. It did take a couple times to get it to program right. I have the rolling code too. Also, I have reset my ecu and replaced battery and it never lost it's programming(thankfully)

Our garage opener is new , 2004. I finally programmed it this weekend.
Press the orange "learn" button in the back, RUN to your car, and push and HOLD your button on the homelink until light flashes. You're done.
Or have another person push the orange button, then you push the homelink button.
Make sure that after pushing the orange button, I think you have 30 sec to do the next step.

Make sure you guys erase your homelink when selling your car. Push and hold the outer 2 buttons until they blink like this guy

and when i programmed mine i just parked my car in the garage, opened up the sunroof, and just stick myself out through it to press on the learn button, and then got back in the car and program it
