Default TTE Lip on Black...yay or nay?

I have been thinking about getting the TTE Lip for a while and now that there is a GB going around it seems like this would be a prime opportunity.

Since I have a black car, I am not really sure if it is worth the money though. I love the L Tuned skirts on the GS but they look so much better on lighter colors where you can actually make out the details. Black, as sinister as it looks, hides a lot of the details and I just don't want to go dish out $300-$400 if nobody will ever notice the lip.

I have a set of the L-Tuned skirts waiting to be painted and installed and have seen a few pics of them on black cars. IMO they just don't add the visual "pizazz" the way that they do on white and silver.

I am also going to stick with the stock 17"s and don't want to add too much extra to the body of my car to where the rims will look too small.

So all of this considered, if you had a black GS would you dish out $300-$400 for a TTE lip? Are there any pictures of this setup?

Thanks guys

umm its better than nothing....although its too common, for the price i would definetly get it regardless of colour. Its not like you drive at night always so of course people can see that you got a front lip. If you want another lip have you thought about say a Silk Blaze, Wald or Admiration? They are more expensive but would look better than a TTE with the L-Tuned skirts.

you should request the photoshp gurus

I will recommend getting it. It blends nicely with the front end:

^^^ I agree that the front lip you choose depends on the side skirts or other body accessories.
Have you seen a black car with TTE in person? or just pictures? I think if you saw it in person you would definitely buy one.
If you want to keep the car stock-ish looking I would just go with the TTE, I've been interested in it for a long time myself.
I would save up for wheels before adding any body kit/lip, but thats just my opinion.

I purposely kept my anti-bling grill flat black but just an idea of no-TTE lip w/ anti-bling grill and black chrome badge

...maybe I should put a clear coat on it. whazzzzuup's looks more uniform and smooth. I would put a TTE lip, I love how it makes one clean line on the bottom.

You need the LS430 projectors like him. That's on my wish list...I want one so bad. I'm gonna do one myself or vend the service out LOL.

Dave,

When I saw your old car in person my jaw nearly dropped. It is by far my favorite 2GS that I have ever seen...I really love it and you did such a great job

Thanks for adding those pics as well. It looks like those are the L-Tuned side skirts and TTE lip combo which is exactly what I was looking for on a black car.

Thanks again for the pics! Definitely helps my decision

I'd do it, should look great with l-tuned sides. It's an understated look but classy!
