I've been a long time contributor to the 2nd gen ES forum and the GX forum.

I recently sold my '94 ES300 and now a proud owner of an '02 GS430.

Platinum on grey interior. Fully loaded with NAV, MLS, woodgrain steering wheel, CD changer, heated seats, etc.

I love the way the car rides and the power of it.

One thing I didn't notice when I bought the car though is that the passenger rear taillight is cracked with a small hole in it.

I was thinking about replacing it with clear white tail lights that I saw on ebay.

Any thoughts?

No pictures of the car yet but they'll come really soon.

Looking forward to contributing to this forum and learning things from you guys.

They look nice. Search there are a few threads about these aftermarket tails with different reviews about each and where they found them. Also, some have been known to trigger the "blown light bulb" light on your dash.

yeah that would be a PIA to deal with. I'm hoping that when I bring the car into inspection they won't notice it. If they do notice then its possible they'll fail it and I'll have to rush into buying something.

I hate rushing to buy anything.

Thanks kamlung.

Everyone,

Forgot to ask...does the JP tails trigger the "blown tail light" indicator? I would think no but I don't like to make an "***" out of u and me by I ASSUME...

theres a DIY section on how to disable the wire to trigger the bulb indicator after a LED taillight/spoiler install, but youll have to check your bulbs manually for blown bulbs.

Yes.

How big is the whole? You can try hiding it with some well placed Taillight Repair Tape from your local auto parts store.

So the car came with the clear bra.

I've had people say mixed things about it.

1) Its a god send it'll prevent the pitting.

2) The clear bra will cause the paint to not fade so it won't match the car over time and when it starts to pit you'll need to remove it which would make it look crappy. Remove it now.

What's everyone's take on it?
