Gs300 I want HID's but need help!
#47
So I finally got these HIDs installed and they look pretty sweet. I had to adjust them up a liitle bit as they weren't projecting too far outward at first. I'll post some pics as soon as I can. The install was a piece of cake and the lights started up first try no problem.
Now I need to change up the fogs which look lousy. Any advice for fogs with 4300k HIDs in the low beam? I'm not looking for HID fogs so i'm thinking maybe PIAA yellow ions??

Mmmm...that color GS looks good with Salinas.

I got the xtreme 4300k kit. I wanted more of a pure white look rather than tinted blue. My GS is the same color and rims as that old picture of Neo's.
I am looking for advice on the fog lights, and not looking to put HIDs in those.

Glad to hear you're happy!
If you are looking for yellow bulbs for the fogs I strongly reccomend these Putco Jet Yellow bulbs. I have a set installed on my car and love them. They offer a very very DEEP yellow output.

I dunno i guess just didn't want to drop another buck and a half and go through the hassle of setting them
up and finding a place to mount the ballasts. HIDs way down
in the fogs seems like it could be a hassle. If I can just get some decent colored yellow LEDs down there I think that would do the trick.
I'll post a pic of the HIDs tonight when it gets dark.

I've been reading up on high wattage 9005 bulbs used in the fogs like Nokya and Putco and noticed lots of folks had issues with their stock harnesses or fog housings melting.
Anyone know of a good 9005 bulb in yellow to use for fogs that won't melt stuff??
The Putco bulbs look cool but I'm a bit worried after reading other posts, although the posts I read were not specifically Lexus car owners. I just googled the bulbs and found reviews.

Hi Skiz,
Putco bulbs use stock wattage so you would not have to worry about damaging your OE wiring. I know that in the past they were higher wattage however since we started carrying them (about a year) they have been the same as stock wattage.

Back in the day i put an hid kit in my 98 gold gs and i spent i believe about 270 bucks, they lasted for 3 years until i sold the car. A couple of years ago i ordered a 29 dollar set from ddm tuning for my mustang and they have been perfect ever since, so i went and ordered a pair for the 99 GS as well.
