02 GS300/400 Coil pack - help
I was checking up on my spark plugs to see if any oil was drenching my plugs and noticed when i removed 2 of the 3 coil packs a little metal prong looking thing was sitting near the spark plugs.
it looks almost like the tip of the spark plug (end that goes into the rubber boot) i thought snapped when i was removing the coil above it but when i observed the plug it is perfectly fine? that makes me think did it fall out from the Coil pack?? when i remove the blue boot i see a Spring dangling is it suppose to be that way?? or is that metal prong suppose to be inside that spring? if anyone has a pic of how the ignition pack looks with the boot removed please help!
i reinstalled everything without the 2 prongs and cannot tell a difference in performance and no cel's nor rough idles.
below are the pictures of the 2 tabs i found.
second pic different angle.

I have looked inside the coil pack, only thing i see inside is a spring after the blue rubber boot, i removed the spring and inside does not look as if those pieces were broken off from there. if you look at the pictures it looks as if something snapped off and they both have this V groove? i really have no clue where this could have came from. I was wondering if someone else had a picture of their coil packs inside to see if maybe they sit between the spring or something? or maybe my coil pack is busted and i just dont know it? but no CEL rough idle or starting probs :\

If anyone has a photo of their coil pack with the rubber boot removed that would be a great help!

why don't you just install the coil pack AS IS. If you don't have any problem with it then you should be fine. Nothing to complain about.
MAYBE! the previous guy who changed the spark plugs accidentally dropped it in there and that part doesn't belong anywhere in your car. You have more than 1-2 coil pack. There should be 6 of them right? So check the other pack.
