Default DIY: 01+ tail light mod

*****************************************DON'T DO IT**************************************

Well so I couldn't really find any threads on 01+ taillight mod so thought I would try it out. Got an extra tail light to experiment on so why not. Heated up the oven to around 200 degrees and popped the taillight in for around 15minutes.

Tried prying it out and well got carried away, heard a crackle and well it was downhill from there.

Kept at it till I go to the amber bit just to see if it was possible to remove it. Well got to the amber bit and well it cannot be removed like the 98-00 taillights.

The glue that is used is not a silicon based like in the older taillights. Its more of an epoxy of sorts, close up of the glue is below.

If this was posted before, maybe I need to use the search button more lol..

p.s. that's why i'm never going to sell my JP non led tails... even if i sold my car... i'll keep my JP grills, JP type II exhaust, and my Authentic JP 3pc wing.... everything else JP would be just parted out...

Wondering if moving the Red and clear lens off of a cheap Led kit onto the factory housing will work..

5t341th is right..I believe a member on here tried doing it and mentioned that the 01+ tails are difficult to take apart.
