heated seat question
i pulled out my center console today and i saw a white plug where the heated seat s switch would be i think (now this is just a suggestion) that lexus doesnt waste time making heated and non heated seats for the gs i think if i plug in the heated seats they will work worst case maybe put in a fuse? has anybody tried it before or is a lexus tech and tried it or knows it will or wont work?????

I discovered this in my LS a while back.
Although the plugs are there, it seems that the wiring form the console to the seat is different with heated seats from without heated seats, and if you open up the seat itself, there are no heating units.
You can of course buy aftermarket heated seat systems and use the factory switches.

No Heat....
Heated seats are not just given away as some items are in our cars. The heater is a carbonfiber heat element that is most likely woven into a feltlike material and stuck onto the foam cushion and back of the seat. This can easily be left out during the assembly process. The seat's wiring harness is also different with non-heated seats. It has less wiring and connectors on it. The biggest reason why Lexus would not give away heat is the cost. Heat is an expensive option to just give away to reduce complexity within their plants. Hope this helps.

Call (or visit on-line) Katzkin Leather (www.katzkin.com) Click on the "Other Products" section.
They are a dealer for Inseat Technologies. They made the massagers (I live in TX, I didn't do heaters) in my GS. I think Inseat has a website as well, but I'm not sure what it is.
Good Luck!

On the GS with heated seats is the temp. controled by the air temp setting? Can you adjust the temp in the seat?
Is it same temp no matter what themp you set on the dash?
