JZS 161 Navigation Removal with new A/C panel
Hey guys!
Im new and have a quick questions.
I currently have a jzs161 aristo with the navigation screen and was wondering if anyone on here has ever removed it and fit a factory a/c panel up in replacement of it (As I am wanting to use an aftermarket cd player).
Another questions is.. the model I have is the 1998 model and I was going to use the same A/C panel from a 1998 but realised that there was an improvement made on the panel in 2000 + models and was wondering if I could use that unit instead. I have looked at the plugs and the 2000+ model seems to have an additional plug (which may be used for navigation) im not sure.. all the plugs seem to be on the back of my unit though and it appears to work in theory...
Any info on the subject would be great!
Chris

The plug for the climate control is the same, you need the climate control itself, and the climate control ECU. Plug and play, should be no problem. The NAV is a totally different story though.

Yeah, it looks nice indeed, hehehe....... hopefully the plug is the same. Cause it has the on board computer on it from what I know. The standard AC control is also used in JDM Aristo, but the JZS160 or non turbo aristo. I would rather used the USDM climate control, it is easier to get in the US, and maybe you just have to swap the button.

JDM Aristo had 3 climate control option, the basic ones (like the USDM GS), the multi display climate control unit, and the EMV Nav Unit.
From what I know, only the JSZ160 (non-turbo aristo) can be bought with all of these climate control option, and the JZS161 (turbo aristo) only have the option of the multi display climate control and EMV Nav unit.
I'm referring to puff post, since he drove an aristo, and he lived in the US. It is probably more difficult to find the JDM multi display. Why don't he just get the USDM basic climate control, it is probably much easier for him to get.

My suggestion is, get the basic unit, it is easier to swap, simpler, and you can add aftermarket double DIN NAV of your choice. Good luck
