Problem with remote/key
My battery died in my remote. No big deal right? Well, I couldn't get the single screw off the remote to change the battery. I have taken it 3 different places (Radio Shack, battery store in mall, and car stereo shop) and none of them could get it out because the screw is stripped. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions to fix it?

how in the heck did you (or anyone) manage to strip that screw??? I bet one of the shops that you brought it to tried so hard to remove it that they stripped it. you should have told them to pay for that! There really might be a way to open that. A specialized tool to open stripped screws is available. My dad actually has a way to re-make the grooves so as to be able to open up a stripped screw. Try and find someone that can do that for u. Or else you will have to buy a new key (if you want the battery functioning)... that will set you back between $100-300. GOod luck...

I had that happen to a remote on my previous car, all I did was found a jewelry set (with the correct size screw driver) for the screw, then I carefully soldered the screwdriver to the screw...and voila, it worked...but it might not work if the screw is in too tight because as we all know soldering is not welding so the connection will break if you apply enough pressure or torque for that matter.

Stripped Screw
Same issue here. Just for someone searching the thread, I got my local jeweler to remove it at no charge -- another option.

It is very simple to change. Remove the screw, split the key apart and the remote section comes out. Open the case back and remove the battery, insert the new one the same way and reassemble.
Radio Shack batteries are more expensive than at Wal*Mart or other discount, just get the CR-1616 part number. I did my first one myself and then stripped the phillips head so had to get help as I described otherwise you can do it all yourself.
