How to remove back bumper?
#3
Paraphrased from the shop manual:
1. Disconnect the neg bat terminal (not sure why!)
2. Open the trunk, pop out the two square plates using a flat blade driver. One on each side of the trunk opening.
3. Remove the screws from under each plate.
4. Remove 4 clips (plastic peg/collar) along the rear underside of the bumper, in a line between the two exhaust tips.
5. Remove two screws at the forward edge of the bumper cover in each wheel well. One at the bottom and one at the top. Four screws total.
6. Pull the bumper cover away from the side quarter panel area near the gas door. There are 7 claws holding it in running along the top edge of the cover, from the wheel well back to the tail light. Do this on both sides of the car.
7. Disconnect the 4 sonar sensors. (No further info on how to do that. Maybe it’s obvious.)
8. Remove the bumper cover from the car.
