JDM mudguards, any hints to mounting hardware?
I purchased a set of JDM mudguards in OEM color for my 06 GS300 from Carson Toyota through L-Tunedparts.com. The four guards arrived today and look sweet. They also came with a package of fasteners that included:
2 push pins
2 long screws with washers
2 short screws with washers
8 medium screws with washers
6 clips
The one thing missing was an instruction sheet. When Carson Toyota was guestioned if there was any kind of instruction sheet that gave any clue as to which fastener is to be used where, they responded: "Sorry sir, but Toyota Japan does not provide any instructions. When they do they are in Japanese."
Ok, so has anybody bought these and successfully mounted them?
Just thought I would ask before I tried to wing it.

Mock it up first to their mounting points. Take either a sharpie or something to mark all the screw holes with. Make comparisons to see if you can use the existing screws/holes or possibly add to it. Then you can use a small drill bit to start pilot holes for the screws.

yep, that's what I did today (in 95° weather).
-The push pins is easy cause there are two under the front fender that line up.
-The large ones are most likely the the rear that go straight up from the bottom.
-The two small ones are most likely the ones that match up with two small screws for the front one.
I will have to drill 6 holes....no problem, done it before. I think these 6 will default to the holes that will need the clips.
Thanks for the reassurance.

1. because they are molded to fit and flow with the body panel
2. because they are factory painted in my Lexus color
3. because they are functional and will keep dirt and brake dust off the lower rocker panels and quarter panels
4. because I want to
thanks for your interest.

i've never imagined my starfire will be such pita to clean.. white car shows every tiny little spots.. because of road constructions, there are tars all over the lower parts of car's body. i had a set on my previous ride, g35 coupe, they didn't look anything like mud guards, but very functional..

did exactly that. Mounted up perfectly and no problems.
