not sure about extended warranty, hopefully someone here can answer that question for you.
to prevent rattles, your best bet would be to use damping material like dynamat.
here's the faq on dynamat: http://www.dynamat.com/faqs_faqs.html##Action%203080
since you are having door rattles, here's the link to the dynamat door kit: http://www.dynamat.com/products_car_audio_door_kit.html
there are other brands that does the same thing, but dynamat is probably the most well known brand. hope this helps.

screw dynamat.
doors are easy to fix. the whole inside door panel comes off with a few screws and clips.
certainly less scary than disassembling the dashboard.
try to find out where the rattle is located after removing the door panel. then apply a few felt strips or tape down any loose parts.
here are the instructions you can study. you don't have to remove everything. but it shows you where the screws and clips are.

I am personally an pro dynamat member. I used it to line the entire trunk, under the back seats, and in the wheel wells to make the car a little more comfy and quiet. The car had a full intake, plenum, headers, high flow cats, and a borla cat back. It was LOUD as hell. The interior panels would rattle under very hard acceleration. That car was bad ***
