Default tower bars?

who makes a strut tower bar for the 3GS? Tom's = +/- $400. any more economic selections from a different mfg?

I was actually looking at the same strut bar and thinking of getting it. Does it make a big difference?

from my experience, it makes a surprisingly BIG difference. I don't know the physics behind it, other than it provides rigidity and prevents body roll. anyone else care to elaborate?

on your gs or other car?

i am surprised it makes that much of a difference. i had it on my gs400 and sc430, and honestly it didn't help that much. i could notice it, mostly in making the steering a bit tighter, but overall the gain was marginal. if anything, coilovers and sways helped the handling a lot more

yes, the idea of strut tower bar is to provide rigidity and also tie the suspensions tighter together

I never really noticed any difference on my other cars with a strut bar but like rominl said coils and sways are a huge difference.

haha, NONE unfortunately. my gs400, is300, and sc430 all had aftermarket sways and the improvement in handling were dramatic. the gs350 is no longer a car i toss around, i have another car for that. the coilovers already help on the handling department

Has anyone tried comparing the rear F-sport for the IS with the stock gs350 swaybar? Many have asked if the f-sport swaybars for the IS would work with the gs350, but the question is often ignored.

Unfortunately the nanny (stability control/VDIM) is way to intrusive (and cannot be disabled) in the GS450h to really appreciate the benefit the STB...

How about the Tom's GS Lower Front Brace, Tom's GS Rear Lower Suspension 6-link, and Tom's GS 300/350 Rear Lower Brace?

Do they do better job then the strut tower bar(Tom's Upper STB)?

Strut bar will not reduce body roll. However it does look nice in the engine bay

all the same, incremental gains maybe, but nothing dramatic

when a friend of mine put just the STB on his car, I was really surprised how much faster he could whip the ride into a turn. even as a passenger, I noticed the difference in added stability. of course when he lowered it next it helped even more. yes, incremental improvements.

the question is: does anyone know of a different mfg that makes an STB @ a lower cost? the improvement is not really worth $400 imo, even though it would look pretty nice...
