yeah lol, i have to remove my front bumper off also to install this new grill. good i don't have to remove the engine out also to put this damn grill..
i think the instruction from toyota also say remove the bumper
technically you remove the front engine bay panel and also the rubber trim, and then you pull the chrome trim forward, then you should be able to access the grille
What year? I removed my grill and I didn't have to take the bumper off. The hardest part to me was the rubber seal that connects to the grill and putting that back together.

Yeah...you don't really have to take out the bumper, just be careful with the chrome frame when you pry the grill out, don't use too much force on the frame, otherwise you will break the center screw that bolts onto the bumper. GOOD LUCK!!!
I didn't know the chrome trim and grille were two separate pieces. I just need to have the chrome trim replaced because somebody backed into it and etched it.
