I got rear ended
I got rear ended a few days ago. The damage is minor. The other dude is at fault and I've been in contact with his insurance company. They tried to refer me to one of there bodyshops, however I'm a skepitcal. I need a little advise on what to do. I was thinking of contact my local Lexus dealership. ifanyone pf any flawless shops on the san Jose or Sacramento area let me know. Thanks.

first of all, sorry to hear about the accident. always always make sure you are ok. any neck pain or so? if you feel anything, always go get it checked out at doctor. that's your right and your health is always first priority. you can always replace a car, but not your body
for body shop, no you do NOT have to go to their recommended shop or whatever, just like what tony yet. if you know of a good shop or a shop that you trust, you can request to get it done there. some insurance company will scare you by saying they won't guarantee a shop's work if it's not on their list. as long as the shop guarantees their work and you know they are good, then you are on the right track.
leave it up to the body shop and insurance company to settle the charges. bottom line is as long as the repairs are legit, insurance company has to pay.
we have a norcal forum with a lot of members. i took the initiative and created a thread there for people to post up their body shop recommendation in sac town, if any. hope this helps!
