Hey guys. I recently noticed my passenger side headlight was out. So I ended up going on ebay and getting the Garax 6000k lamps. I put the new bulbs in today and turned them on for the break in period. They looked pretty good, but i noticed the passenger side had an intermittent flicker (about ever 30 seconds or so), then after about 5 minutes the light went out. I am wondering if you guys have any ideas on the issue here. I am thinking its a grounding issue since it came on for 5 minutes, but not sure.
Of course I contacted Lexus and they say it sounds like a ballast issue and they want me to come in (and its not under warranty anymore because I am at 50,500 miles now).
You all have been a great help in the past and thanks in advance for your assistance.

This is why I have never changed my bulbs out or messed with HID kits.
Funny because some members say that they have never heard of this type of issue when it seems like it happens all of the time. I say go back to stock bulbs and stick to major mods

I have also installed aftermarket HIDs in my old 2GS 400 and I didn't install correctly (mount the ballast) and sometimes (not often) if I hit a big hole or something it would flicker and I would have to adjust it back.
Ask your dealer for a Goodwill adjustment if possible or for them to eat some of the cost. Good luck.

MAN...what the heck! I was driving around tonight and now my AFS OFF warning light is flashing on top of having the passenger headlight still not working. Maybe there is more to this problem...? Bad electrical / wiring?

So I fixed the problem of the light coming on for a few seconds then shutting off. The problem was on the passenger side when I was plugging in the bulb in with the wiring harness with the metal piece on it, I was incorrectly starting the twist to the right too late (started turning the fitting onto the back of the bulb at a different angle than what the factory had done) causing a piece of the metal plug to tough that little piece of metal prong towards the bottom and shorting the circuit. So this was an install error on my part
. So anybody having this problem, it may not be a bad bulb, it could just be the way you are putting the socket back onto the back of the bulb.
