Mastercard commercial for my next mod...
Cost to call Japan directly: a few bucks
Cost to buy from manufacturer (including shipping): couple hundred bucks
Not having to deal with long wait times: priceless!

yup, artisan spirits roof spoiler. here's my painful story: i ordered the roof spoiler back in january of this year. the shop i was going through said it should arrive late feb, early march.
march comes and goes, and i was told by the vendor that the distributor they ordered from went belly up. so they had to re-order through a different distributor, and i should get my roof spoiler sometimes in june.
2nd week of june, i get the bad news from the vendor: 2nd distributor can't bring it in (for whatever reason), and only choice now would be to order through a US distributor. i should expect to receive the part late august or early september (and that's being optimistic).
i said screw it, i'll order the darn thing myself directly and cancelled my order. with the help of my japanese friend, we place 2 phone calls and about half a dozen emails to japan.
did the bank wire transfer, and got my roof spoiler in 3 weeks via regular mail.
interesting tidbit of info: A.S. rep told my friend that they started to manufacture my roof spoiler even though they haven't received my wire transfer. seems they trust i will place an order without pmt confirmation. that's awesome on their part!
secondly, my friend told the A.S. rep that i'm a huge fan of VIPStyle magazine, and the rep said she would throw in a free copy for me (which i got with the roof spoiler). kudos to the rep!
i had a great experience ordering stuff directly from japan, and i will probably go this route unless i can't order direct.

i really like the roof spoiler, it flows so nicely with the rest of the car. just a little extra touch to make the GS look a little bit different.
