Battery is good. Multiple batteries have been tried.
fob will not "activate" and show light unless you press around the button several times...as if the board is somehow shorted . I took my fob apart, took it down to the circuit board, the push buttons on the board and the battery in the back, for testing.
The Lock button and the unlock button will not trigger the light/action unless you move the metal button around a tiny bit with your fingernail.
Thoughts?
The fob works fine when the fob works, the fob light lights, the doors lock or unlock without problem.
Is this perhaps a circuit board short due to the age of the fob?

Assuming you've made sure there's good mechanical contact, try some contact enhancer, like Deoxit.
