Default 2006 GX470 Muffler Question

Hi Everyone,

My GX470 needs a new muffler and I'm not in love with the idea of spending almost $700 for the lexus muffler plus an additional $500 for the tail pipe. Is there an aftermarket alternative that won't negatively impact performance or the quiet sound that anyone could recommend?

Thank you,

Bobby

There are aftermarket mufflers in Rockauto.com. They work essentially the same. But they don't last as long as original. I changed it twice on my 04.

Thank you! I assume you meant they "don't" last as long as the original? I appreciate the response.

Ansa brand is better than most, Walker is extremely rust prone including what they claim is stainless steel. If you plan on keeping your truck indefinitely then consider investing in OEM parts.

Thank you for the reply. Decided to go with OEM after all.

Good move you would not be happy with the aftermarket parts.
