Default GX off roading concern

Hello

I took my GX off roading earlier this year and I'm about to do it again. My question, is there a possibility of the engine getting an oil starvation, due to oil sloshing to one side of the oil pan while going up a really steep hill?

I tried going up a steep hill before, and did not notice the oil pressure light ever coming on. Is the 2UZFE oil pan baffled? Should I be concered? Thank you

Charleston

Now, I am not a Lexus engineer, but I do know the GX was built to be taken off-road with the best of them. I am sure this was thought out (the oil issue) in advance.

What u can do for extra precaution is use Synthetic when you go off-roading as the molecules bond to the engine, thus adding more protection.

it should be able to go off road because all the advetisements of the gx are adventure. Seen the DVD they sent?? Well, it isn't a really rough off road but they say it is capable of off roading. have fun. by the way, don't u have a busted running light there or is it just the sun light?

Way cool..finally someone who uses their truck for what it was deigned to do!

You ask a very good question, and the same engine is used in the LandCruisers. So, I bet you are safe.

Well,

How about this.....I generally follow rally circles as I have a built up Celica GT4. I was looking through some recent Rally Jamaica writeups and look what I found.....

This Prado was the pace note vehicle That should tell you something.

The 4.7L I-Force V8 is in the Tundra that they race in the Paris-Dakar Rally, if the engine can handle screaming across the desert in extreme heat and dust then some off road driving won't affect it.

Some guy on www.TundraSolutions.com has a 2000 V8 Tundra with 170k+ maybe 200k, he puts on alot of miles with 35k oil change intervals amsoil baby, if the engine can handle that your good.

Depending on the amount of Off Roading you do, just change the oil sooner rather then later

just a reminder, once you go synthetic you cannot go back to using regular motor oil..... I hope that GX is fully capable of going OFF roading, i was thinking of purchasing that Landcruiser Prada as my next project vehicle (lexus GX) i will be terribly disappointed if that truck isn't capable of going off roading. Might as well label it an Escalade if it can't go off roading...

wrong, check your facts, synthetic is fully compatible with conventional motor oils, semi-synthetic motor oils and other synthetic motor oils should it be necessary to mix them, taken off M1 site.

It's pretty much printed on all the Oil Company Websites, the only thing they don't advertise about synthetic is extended drain intervals but Amsoil does.
