My 03 had vibration but when I returned it back to Lexus I purchased a 04 GX 9700B.
The04 GX model 9700B has all the problems fixed but vibration. However, the vibration abound 1700 rpm is less noticeable than my 03. I already knew the vibration hasn't been fixed b/c I talked to the master tech before I purchased the 04 GX. Why did I buy a $50K truck that vibrates? b/c GX is too good to pass just for the very ver y mild vibration around 1700 rpm. Actually, if I didn't know about the vibration, I probably would not even notice it in my 04 GX.

Go test drive one and feel the steering wheel when rpm is around 1700 and see if it's a big deal to you.
I test drove all the SUV with 3rd row seat and love GX the best.

Thanks for the response super_cjc. I currently have 2000 LX470, and after 95,0000 miles, it now has a vibration in it. I'm thinking it is due to the mileage that was put on it though. I'm just a little worried now that I've read some of the posts.

That's great that yours only has the vibration and the rest of the issues are not present.

I however have heard from others that the clunking in the driveline has not been fixed and is present in the 04's. Also as a side note the clunking isn't present when the vehilce is brand new, mine didn't start until after about 2,000 miles and that was the case on BOTH of my GX's

So not saying it will happen to you, but something to think about and have in mine before laying down 50K.

Oh, 1 more side note, Lexus has just tried attempt number 3 at fixing my driveline cluck and it is still there. Will be contacting Lexus Arbutration for a buyback very soon now.

My 03's clunking problem was fixed before I returned it. Maybe you want to try other service centers?

I have about 300 miles on my week old GX with KDSS. No vibration or clunking issues to date. Hope I don't start to experience it later as you did. I had hoped at this later 04 model production date, all these issues would be fixed.
