GX470 H11 Xenondepot kit installed DIY guide

Tony or Steve...
A question from a newbie:
Steve has recommended the H11 4300K , yet the XenonDepot website has the 6000K kit featured onit's homepage as recommended for the GX 470.
Which would be a better fit?
Thanks!

Hello,
If your primary concern is light ouput than I recommend the 4300k kit. If you do not mind losing approx 20% of light output in exchange for some colour than go for the 6000k kit.
Regards,
Steve

The 6000k kit and 4300k is the same install kit. The only difference is the bulbs which are identical in size and installation just that when you turn them on they will each have a different color. Like Steve said if you want maximum light output go with the 4300k for a OEM HID look. If you want more blue and white to your headlight then go with the 6000k kit. 6000k bulbs are more expensive then the 4300k bulbs but that does not mean they are better just one is bluer in color.

Just received my 4300K kit from Xenon Depot. I installed it this morning in less than an hour. This is my second kit from them.....the first was a 6000K kit that I installed on my in-law's '04 GX470. That kit has been flawless so far and mine fired up perfectly too. I went with the 4300K because I'm used to the factory HID on my '02 RX. My in-law's 6000K looked great, but I'm looking for more light down on the road. Can't wait until tonight.

You really don't need a professional installer for these kits from Xenondepot.com. There is no cutting or splicing, its pretty much pull out the old bulbs, put in the new ones and plug all your cables together and your done. I would do it for free if you lived in Las Vegas. Seriously download the schematics from Xenondepot study them for a little bit and then order the kit. IF you look at the schematics and follow my install instructions you will be done in 45 minutes. Trust me, I can't even change my own oil on these new cars but installing HIDS are very easy. If you can decorate and light your Christmas lights around your house you can do the install for your HID kits.

How does the Proxenon HID kit compare to Xenondepot (Ease of install, quality, reliability,etc....) I'm expecting my 05 GX next week and serioustly thinking about ordering a kit now.
Many people seem to favor Xenondepot over Proxenon, what's your take? I like the color effect but I'm concerned about the 20% decrease in light output of a 6000K v/s 4300k. How is that degradation compared with the factory installed headlights?
Thanks,

orclex,
If you are primarily concerned with light output over colour output than by all means go for the 4300k kit. Whether you go with the 4300k kit or 6000k kit your light output will still be considerably greater than your stock halogen bulbs.
OEM HID use either Osram 4100k bulbs or Philips 4300k bulbs.

Clublexus members prefer the xenondepot kit due to the fact that it is a complete plug and play system and the kits are made by philips. Steve from Xenondepot is always checking his e-mails and responds to all our questions. His customer service is awesome not to mention he is now a sponsor of this clublexus forums board. Xenondepot kits are the easiest to install, with no splicing or tapping into the wires which could void your warranty if electrical problems occur; like other kits from other companies.
If you do a search for proxenon some of the members had customer service issues and their kits are not plug and play and are not made by philips.
This is my second kit for two different cars and I never had a electrical problem or reliability issue with the philips kits from Xenondepot.

I recently asked my dealer, via email, if they install Xenondepot kits. The reply, in addition to they don't do that, came from a tech who is also a part time city policeman who said the kit is illegal for the GX. That's all I would need in addition to my truck not having the front license plate and tinted front windows. I didn't pursue that any further.

4300 kit installed!
I had the guys who do my maintenance install the kit at my 10,000 mile servicing. They were extremely impressed with the kit, and have it installed & hidden so that it appears to be factory equipment. Will have to get pics up. The output is tremendous, and the color from a distance, straight ahead is pure white. From a side view, there's a bluish tint, and no trace of yellow that I can tell.
Very pleased with product & service!
