i've had my xenondepot kit with philips 4300K bulbs for almost a year now and running into an issue.

-bulb will not light up intermittently on driver side (ie tough to reproduce or random)

-so i swapped bulbs side to side and it's the same driver side that doesn't light up off and on

called xenon's phone line a few times and they're not really sure what's going on which isn't a surprise as it's tough to diagnose from a distance. sucks it's happening as i can't stand driving thinking a bulb is out which is illegal.

i'm about to order a new ballast and harness from them to see if that'll solve the problem cuz it's not the bulb. haven't had the most proactive help from them which is disappointing. not sure i can ask them for a refund of my ballast as i can't prove it's a bad ballast.

Hey I had the same type deal! Look at all your fuses going to the battery from your harnesses--They get all gunked and fouled up somehow, take out fuse and clean or replace fuses if they look nasty--trust me it fixed my problem

would replacing the harness with new get it done?

more importantly, how the heck do we prevent them getting gunked up? i've had this set on for less than a year.

thx!

replacing the harness will work cause u get a new fuse holder, but u will run into the same issue over time--- just the weather gets to the fuse holder over time. I keep a check on my fuse holders at times just to make sure, but they can get nasty! I talked to steve about this and suggested to incorporate some type of weather resistant fuse holders in place of what he is using now to prevent issues like I had. I will buy some and splice them in to end this situation on my end.

Have you looked at them yet? you may be surprised. Im NOT saying that is your problem at all, you may have a harness or ballast issue but I was Surprised when I found my fuses so trashed lol and like I said that fixed my entire issue of my HID NOT lighting up

Thats the only weakness I see in the kits, other than that Steves HID Kits are AWESOME and I refer everyone to him when they are wanting a Quality HID kit.

i have not visually checked them myself as i had my toyota guy mess with it.

really appreciate you lending your thoughts here. i think i'm likely facing the same issue. i would hope that these vendors would respond and make improvements to their product. i don't drive my truck hard. never off road. the most extreme weather is rain and limited snow. i keep it clean. maintain it very well.

i expect these kits to hold up as good as OEM and this is not OEM reliability/durability. disappointing if there isn't a more weather resistant solution.

For the $$$, Steves kits are fairly bullet proof to me so far except that one issue lol. Take a minute and open up your fuse holders and pull the fuse out and check them--clean fuse socket and replace fuse if necessary--I really think that could be the issue and Im dying to hear what you found out lol.

Hi Guys,

ROK: We have updated the harness since you purchased your kit. We use copper terminals now as they are better conductors.

Booyah: The reason I felt the issue was harness related was because it was intermittent. If a component was bad the lights would simply not work. ROK did not feel comfortable troubleshooting and I didn't want to waste his time bringing it to a shop to do for him so I just decided to send him a new harness.
