Default why parking sensor?

Lexus does not offer parking sensor on GX to make sure people buy the $3000 Nav w/ camera.

Parking sensor is useless anyway. Example, in New York City, people bump their car into your bumper anyway doesn't matter you car has sensor or not. The best way to protect is to buy front/rear bumper guards.

I'll try and check tonight: Sony's night mode on video cameras uses infrared (James Bondish) so I'll use that IR light and the backup camera. Nice idea!

Resurecting a 5 year old thread...

zzzzdoc? Did you get these installed? I just purchased an LS430 this week, and I now I don't want to drive a vehicle without those sensors. Any examples...do's and dont's...much appreciated.
