Is there anyway to install the LS430 parking sensors in a GX470 and interface it with the NAV system. It strike me as unbelievably stupid that Lexus didn't include the ultrasonic parking sensors as an option. I use these every day on my LS430.

I agree that the rear camera is nice, but it also does nothing for the front and the corners. Ultimately, I think the combination of both is safest. Not having the front sensors while trying to shoehorn the large SUV into a garage, or to fully pull into a parking space just doesn't work well.
That being said, I just purchased some after-market sensors (both front and back) which I will have installed.
It still would have been nicer to integrate it into the front display.

Basically, although the Backup Camera is good, but there are two disadvantages:
1) There are still some blind spots you can't see.
2) At night, the back up light is somewhat dimmish, can't see clearly.
Actually, when i drive my BMW w/ parking sensors, I can park easily.
But, with Lexus, It slows me down, and makes me worry more.

And that's still just the disadvantages of backing up. When pulling forward, my LS430 or BMW X5 lets you pull up very close to an object without hitting it. With the GX470, lot of luck.

Well, I think if the back up light is white one instead of yellow, that would be better.
The performance light bulb has brighter output, so it will be more clear.
LED is kind of red for me, I don't know if that would be good.

I was really referring to INFRARED LED Iluminators. Their light is invisible to the naked eye, but some CCD cameras pick them up. I have a number of them around the house for security cameras so that the cameras can see in complete darkness (i.e Night Vision goggle kind of vision)

My bad, I misunderstood before. but I know now.
I also have cameras for home security which at night I could see black and white image.
So, I think if you use infered LED in the backup camera, your screen I think will also be black&white.
