Default What tire came in the GX

Mine came with Dunlop at20 Grandtrek, as per reviews from Tire rack these tires are rated very low owners who left a review complains the thread wear is terrible they did not mentioned how it handled and dont mention the bridgestone, the Michelins are rated excellent, any feedback from the forum members from their expirience, pros, cons, I am trying to decide if to leave them until they wear and then replaced them with Michelins cross terrain.

I have the Michelin Cross Terrains on mine. I love them, they are quiet and I had them in the snow last year and they did great.

Dunlop AT20 would have prefered Michelin

Well I see everyone is indeed leaned to Michelins, I'll go for the change, thanks to all.

Most of the 4Runner owners who ended up with the Dunlops put new tires on within a short time, my Dunlops are still in pretty good shape but Im getting new ones, nothin like buying a 40k vehicle or with the GX over 50K and they hook you up with tires that last 20,000 miles

I've got 26k on my dunlops and they still look good. I drive the truck hard too. No problems with noise or traction. What's everyone griping about? I've driven on soft sand up and down dunes and in 3 ft of snow. No issues. Never stuck.

I dont think anyone here is gripping about the tire, I have had bad expirience with OEM tires before, more with the 2003 Ford Explorer Limited I had before I got the GX, they where bridgestones and as per the distributor the model I had are one of the best, they did not act that way in a wet situation had a very bad expirience twice, when in the lot checking the color I wanted I saw that all the GX's came with diffrent brands, I checked the dunlop at20 in Tirerack and the reviews were all neutral or negative so I asked here to see what owners expirience were, mine came with dunlops, I havent made a change due that I probably change the wheels.

The Michelin Cross Terrains are in a different league then the Dunlop AT20's. I just don't understand why all GX470's would not come with the Michelins and all 4runners come with the Dunlops? What when you pay an average of $15K more for the GX versus the 4runner you get a cheap tire and a guy buying the less expensive 4runner can end up with the Michelin's??
