Just picked up my GX- wow, light years ahead of my Escalade, and I think it is even slightly
better than my BMW X5, very pleased with it.

One thing that is idiotic, however, is that if a DVD is already in the player when the car is started the rear DVD screen wont turn on, you have to use the remote- is there any way to override/default this so that
the rear screen always comes on? My kids are not old enough to use the remote yet.

i think there might be a way to turn it on though the front nav screen.. i know you can turn the rear screen off though it but i dont know about on.. i just usually grab the remote reach my hand behind and press it and then ask whoevers back there if it came on or not

Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to avoid. No big deal, just dont understand the design logic of it, since when you put a new DVD in, both screens light up automatically.

It cant be done from the front screen. Very annoying. I complained to Lexus about this. Very tough with a crying two year old in the back!!

I had an after market DVD installed, with screens in the head rests.

However, I also had an additional IR installed behind the rain sensor.

Perhaps an additional IR can be installed for an OEM system.
