Default Electric Brake Connector

Hello!

I am getting ready to tow a trailer that has electric brakes, my GX came with the electric brake adapter in the glove box, does anyone know where this connector attaches to? I looked in the owners manual and it points to look under the dash on the drivers side. I looked under the dash and I do not see any place where the connector can attach. Can someone help me find it or describe where I may find it.

Thank you.

The picture below shows the electric brake adapter connected to the the adapter under the dash.

The red and black wire you see is after market for the directional mirrors.

You will find a cover under the dash with a phillip's screw. Remove the one screw and gently pry the cover off. You may have to remove a small vent channel to see the socket, which is taped onto a wire loom.

They don't make it easy.

Hi Cap !

Thanks for the reply. I did remove the cover yesterday and I could not find the connector. I will go back out tonight and remove the vent channel to see if I can locate that connector. You are right, they do not make it easy to find. I will let you know what I find.

Thanks for the picture.

Later,
Russell

Thanks, Cap !

I went out to my GX and took another look, I found the connector, it was taped on the top side of the wiring loom.

Russell.....

I have not yet installed a Brake Controller, just connected the wiring module. I put wire nuts on the ends of all the wires and tucked them in under the dash.

Let me know what controller you decide on and where you are going to install it.

A picture would be neat.....
