Default Anyone try to hook up an i-pod thru the a/v jacks?

I've tried all the products (i-trip etc) with little success. I now use a cassette adapter for the best sound quality. Then I noticed the a/v inputs on the center console. If I could find the right kind of wire - I bet that would be a good solution. Anyone try it?

In case it does not work, keep an eye in this thread. I am not sure when the GX version will be available but it is an alternative.

EDIT: Sorry gang. In re-reading this thread, I realize I forgot to put the link into the post.

Yes, I have tried it.

The RSES Aux inputs will only play through the wireless headphones, and not through the main audio system.

Default i'm using tape adapter for mine...

it sucks. And I find that I need to put the tape adapter in upside down to get both channels to even out.
Seems the heads don't align when I just put it straight in (with a little wire going in as necessary).

Flipping it over means you put the wire deeper into the unit, risking it getting snagged, but the thickness of the wire seems to help line up the read heads better.

your mileage may vary. I'm using a Sony cassette adapter that I got with some handheld CD player way back when.

My next vehicle will get an Alpine head end with the new Ipod integration accessory that they have.

There are a few people on siennaclub.org who have hooked up an ipod to emulate a CD changer, allowing steering wheel controls to change tracks and volume of the ipod. Here's a link:

If you want to go a step higher, you can install the Rockford Fosgate DMP1 WIFI MP3 Player. It mounts in your car and emulates a CD changer, and will use your home wireless network to sync music from your computer to the car. This seems like the ultimate feature to me.
