Default How do I upgrade Nav DVD?

Is this a simple "pull out the old one and stick in the new one" type of thing?

I bought the newer (updated) nav dvd recently but have not attempted to install it as I want to make sure it is just a plug and play deal. Being as this is the wife's car, and that she used the nav ALL THE TIME (real estate agent), I cannot afford to have a "problem" when I install it.....if I do, I will never hear the end of it! LOL

The dealer was like "I dunno, I think you just stick it in"....that's just not good enough.

Can you let me know how to do this? I dont need all the details...unless there are some details (non-intuitive) that I need to know.

TIA! Tim

You are in luck, it is just that easy (I have upgraded twice). Just eject the old, stick in the new and presto! You will notice NO difference in the new version, just that you have newer roads and POI's showing up, there is no change in the user interface.

Many thanks Sir! I appreciate it. Tim

BTW, How do you like the Xenon kit? I am thinking about doing it......the wife will never know, but I will! lol

Feel free to share any experience/feedback/install problems, etc. Tim

As far as the HID's it is a no brainer, GET THEM!!! They are MUTCH brighter then the stock. Search the GX forums for HID and you will find lots of info. I got mine from Proxenon.com and had a good bit of trouble getting the correct bulbs and they had very poor customer service. I think several people used Xenondepot.com and had very good results. Do the search and see what you think, but again it was the first mod I made to my GX. One word ot caution, once you have HID's you can never go back, it will be like you are driving with a headlight out.

Cool. Thanks for the word of caution from the one vendor. I have seen the Xenondepot.com comments and it looks good!

Have a good one, Tim
