Just installed the XD 4300k kit today... they look SWEET! SUPER bright white... easy 45 min install... HUGE upgrade over OEM. IMHO 4300k is the only way to go... super clean crisp look.

Cliffy,
I paid $540.00 to XenonDepot in March 2005 for my H11 6000k kit, but it's much cheaper now for both the 6000K and the 4300K (the kit you're requesting)...!
You're also getting the NEW balasts that are SUPER SUPER thin, take a look at the picture where they have the balast clamped in the micrometer!!!! WOW!
The original balast are about 2.5" thick and probably much heavier than the new ones....
Good luck with "Santa"... I'll bet she'll love the way the GX looks with the new kit...

I have read EVERY SINGLE post on this topic and every single thread. I'm trying to do the homework before asking the same questions all you guys have already hammered out when the topic was new and fresh. Now the question for me is.....
xenondepot.com H11 4300K $405 delivered
superhids.com H11 5300K $290 delivered
Many of the posts have flip-flopped between the 4300 and 6000 temp range for light output vs. color. (I lean towards output). Both kits are easy plug & play installs with quality components but big difference in price???
Anybody have any quality input that could pursuade me to go with one kit over the other? Any help or advice is much appreciated. I can see by the date of the posts I'm behind the times but value everybody's opinions and experience with this subject!!!! COME ON AND FEED ME some info!!!!
Thanks again, CcS

25cliffy,
One difference between the 2 is XD has a 1 year waranty, Superhids only 60/90 day. I'm also looking at getting HIDS and although there are other less expensive options out there, just seems like XD is the way to go. Don't seem to recall anyone having problems w/ their XD kits on this board. I'll be getting 4300 because of the output and also less chance of getting pulled over (have illegal tinted windows).

Cool, went with the 4300K from XD ($380 + $25 shipping)- but no paperwork included ie. instructions, parts list, wiring schematic, warranty info - emailed Steve and am waiting for reply. No worries there, but thanks to these posts I was able to install even though parts have changed shape, size and color. Took me longer than everybody else. I had to widen the screw hole to mount the relay (it's metal now, not plastic so I had to take my time) and the power wire connection to the battery - same thing, it's metal of course but not big enough to fit. Again, no big deal - just added on some time. So from start to finish it took me well over an hour including the windows (which took me several tries by the way)
Anyways - very pleased with kit. Brightness and color is exactly what I wanted. Very white and bright, not too blue. Thanks for everybody's opinions and posts (thanks Cap). Sharing your experiences really makes these forums work.
Here's the funny part. Just like others have mentioned, after installing the kit - all my other lights look dingy yellow! What now?

I just ordered a H1 6000k for my '03 LX 470 from XD ($469 OTD). Do you guys think the 6000k is too blue-ish ? I read in another GX HID forum that the 6000k retains more white than the 4300k which tends to turn yellowish over time... Now I am confused... If the 4300k is more OEM-like, I'd go with it and have Steve switch my order to the cheaper 4300k ($399 OTD).
Any suggestions on KEY differences b/w these two 4300k v 6000k and further opinions/thoughts would be really appreciated.
Thanks all

Can you post any pics of the 4300 HIDs - - would be great to see some pics...
Also did anyone adjust the height of the headlamps or does the HID naturally spread to a wider/ longer area....currently the OEM low beams fall way too short (and have very low intensity). Thanks.

The GX forums on HID installs have certainly been much more informative and excellent for anyone wanting to upgrade their halogens to HIDs.... I cannot wait for mine to arrive and get installed.
Happy New Year everybody !

I have the XD kits in both 4300 and 6000K. I ordered the 6000K first for my in-laws GX. I liked the way the lights looked from the outside, but driving, it looked too blue and dim for my taste (still better than halogen though). When we got our own GX a few months later, I went with the 4300K kit and have been so happy with them. The amount of pure white light on the pavement is amazing.
