Sorry Newbie here to GX470, but what is TRD / SC and why was it not available (on hold) on 03/04 model?

TRD SC... that's the Super Charger for the GX470 made by Toyota Racing Development.

I scrolled to the bottom and found that the Supercharger for the GX 470 is still On Hold.

your part number ends in 610, you want 604, I clicked the add to cart and then it ask for my cc info

For a 2004 GX 470, I get:

"This item is currently not available from TRD. Please contact TRD at 1-800-688-5912 for availability."

I don't know what to tell you, I spoke with several parts guys and they all told me the GX is identical to the V8 4Runner, the Lexus Dealer even has several GX owners who are gonna have the SC installed.

I e-mailed parts@conicelliautoplex.com and asked them, "Do you have a Supercharger and Installation Kit for a 2004 GX 470 ??"

Their response was, "They are on hold from trd.... Thanks Tom"

I just picked up my GX and I'm interested in ALL mods for it right now... !!!

 

The TRD (Toyota Racing DIvision) supercharger will add approximately 100HP to your vehicle. It retails for around $6,000 + installation. Since they haven't been available for a while you should expect to pay retail for it. I've thought about it, but it's like putting lipstick on a elephant. Sure, it will make the truck faster, but it fast was REALLY what you were after, most of us would simply buy another car designed for speed. Having said all this, I am stil hoping that someone here throws one on their truck and tells us the cost and performance increases.
