NAV Welcome Screen

Lead Lap
Maybe someone out there knows?
Tried the "service menu" options outlined in that thread. It's a great find for the 05GX but doesn't work on the 04. Bummer. But knowing the screen is there on the 05 also leads ment to believe that it's also there on the 04 (probably just under a different egg). Now, to find that egg... Anyone in Lexus service-land want to "share" the knowledge of how to access the 04GX service menu?

Until they at least answer my email inquiries, I think I'll wait before ordering from them.

Just heard from Coastal Tech. I asked:

Do you have a unit that will disable the "I agree" screen for the Nav system in a 2004 Lexus GX470?
They just answered:
Hello
Not currently, but I will put you on the email list to be notified.
Please let me know if I may assist you further : )

Hi Guys,
I too am patiently waiting for this unit, I knew going in that I would be taking a risk that it was still in development and that it might not work for the GX470 as this model was made for the Prius.
So while the moss is growing steadily at my feet, I will keep you posted when the product FINALLY arrives at my doorstep...
I'm sorry if I mislead you in the orginal post, but in my defense, when I originally placed the order in early June, I was told 6~8 weeks, this is now the 8th week...
I still think it's worth the wait especially now that they have the BT option available. In the meanwhile, the service menu "hack" works great for me!!!!

here are the OVERRIDE instructions for 04 models w/ Gen3 Nav:, courtesy of 2004RX330 in the RX forum.
Go to Menu
Hit DVD button in upper right to view the DVD version
Hit Top Left, Bottom Left, Top Left, Bottom Left, then Bottom RIGHT
That will get you a blue system menu
Press and Hold Override for a ~3 seconds
Release , and "Override" will be highlighted
Press Back
Then your passenger or you can enter destinations while driving . . .
Caveat: there is one key difference from the Gen4 nav. You can only access the DVD version screen when stopped, so you are better off doing this when you start up the car, because you won't be able to override once you are on the road. (of course you would only do this if you anticipate needing it, not when going to-from work or the local market)
