wind SHEILD????????????????????
HEY, HAVE OR WOULD ANY OF YOU RELACED A FRONT WIND SHEILD BECAUSE OF A ROCK CHIP I HAD MINE REFILLED AND YOU CAN REALLY SEE THE CHIP STILL SO HELP ME THANKS .

I hate rock chips in the windshield, but if it is fixed and not spreading as a crack, I would not get the windshield replaced and risk other damage or a bad seal resulting in water leaks or wind noise from the new one. I'd just a bit, and wait until it gets a line of sight crack or gets so pitted that for safety reasons it should be replaced.

this would depend on how bad it is. for my situation, i've got a lot of rock chips on the windshield from a out-of-town trip once. when the windshield is clean and the sunlight shines thru it, you can see "sparkling 'diamonds' " on my windshield because there's so many of them! i wouldn't risk it and instead keep the original windshield (unless it is badly damaged or broken). there can be problems that you may not notice when u have it done.

just drive with the chip that has been fixed and see if you can live with it, maybe after some sun hits the chip it will lighten the spot
the original windsheild is part of the body structure, say the truck flips or takes a real good hit to the front, the windsheild is absorbing the impact just like the body and crumple zones, a replacement windsheild will never have the same exact results as the original windsheild, also remember that if they replace the windsheild it still needs several days for the glue to dry cause in an accident the passenger side airbag bounces off the windsheild, that force can launch the windsheild out of the vehicle if the glue is not dried
I've seen them replace windsheilds on brand new GX, sounds just like new, the outside molding can easily be removed by anyone, scary and cool at the same time.
Just remember it will never leak sunshine
