I am wanting to add a 12volt plug in the cargo area. The regular plug is nice, but most of the items I need to plug in are 12volt. I tried an adaptor, but it did not work. I would like to add the plug right next to the current one. Has anyone done this? If so, can I tap into the power source for the existing plug? How do I take the side panel off? Any help would be helpfull. I will post pics if I get it done.

I'm assuming you are speaking of the 115v outlet behind the rear passenger seat. Stay away from that, don't tap into any of the wiring at that outlet. You should run an entirely new power line from your fuse box and just drill out a new hole for a cig. lighter. Attach your new power lead and ground the outlet. Good luck.
