Default Jerky brakes

My '04 GX with 14000 miles feels jerky as it come to a stop - especially on soft braking. It seems as if the disks are warped. Has anyone else experienced similar things?

Default mine has that to

Yeah my rotors warped around 8000k the dealer keeps putting off the repairs I think until it goes out of warranty. THey tell me they cannot cut the rotors until the pads wear to a certain width. That is BS but I can live with the jerking until the next oil change.

Mine started having the warped rotor jitter a couple months ago. They also started to have a little squeak under light braking. I plan to mention it and a couple other little things when I go in for my 20k this week.

Default OMG ... who designed these brakes ... pre-schoolers ???

I am amazed to see that this is not an isolated situation. When I first got the truck (shifting over from driving LR's), I thought the braking was soft. I now have about 24K on my truck, and have that same "pulsing" brake pedal action. This has been building for the a while, and has times which are worse than others with usage (heat buildup). This in my experience is caused by warped rotors, as you guys have mentioned. I am not a "brake" junkie, nor do I ride my brakes or use two feet for accessing the pedals. I did notice that all of us (or so it appears) have the 2004 model. When you got your brake issure resolved, is it a "warranty" issue, since it is a "consumable" item on the truck? It appears that it may be an inappropriate (under-rated) design for the vehicles weight. I am curious how far reaching this is ??? Can anyone say "NHTSA" ...

Default All toyotas have weak brakes

Every toyota and Lexus I have owned, the brakes seemed to have warped early and heat up fast with fade.

Dropped it off for my 20k yesterday. They agreed that the rotors were warped and fixed them under warranty.

That's good news. I'll be sure to take a look at mine.
