Try this:
This is how you enable diagnostic mode, just turn off the car to get out of this mode
-Start car, turn on parking light
-Hold down both Climate and Audio buttons at the sametime do the next step
-Turn OFF parking light, then ON, then OFF, then ON, then OFF
You should see the service menu. Good Luck.

It was in another thread a while ago. I tried it and it works on the Rx470. It does not however give you the same menu functions that enable you to override anything. You can just go through some diagnostics.

It can tell you if something is wrong with the Audio Head Unit, Amp, the backup camera, and a lot more. It is also a way to watch the backup camera while driving forward as if to watch a trailer in tow.

I tried this a couple of times and was unable to see the camera image when in this mode. Do you have to do something special?
Thanks!

On my '04 GX it works. However, on my father's '05 RX all I see is gray when I go into RV cam Diag mode.
I think it might have to do with the generation of nav. Since the '05 GX and '05 RX have relatively the same nav, then if your GX is '05 that might be the cause. I didn't work much to figure out how to get it to work on '05 though. Is yours '05?
(EDIT: I checked your profile, yep it is an '05. Thats the cause then. I don't know how to work it ('05) yet though. Sorry.)

BY THE WAY:
A simpler way to get into the diag mode is this:
A. From almost any screen, press the "Display" button. A new frame pops up with settings.
B. Touch the top-left of the screen just below the frame, bottom left just above the frame. (repeat B two more times) Check out my stinky text-drawing interpretation below.
THE END
IE.
If this is the screen and the extra lines in the middle represent the framing, you would press where the numbers are in that order (except always touch where he numeber 1 is and 2 is, don't press out further to the right how it is show[ALWAYS STAY IN THE CORNER]).
